About Us

Mission Statement

Tic Tots is a family run nursery which offers a homely experience supporting children in its fun, secure and very caring environment.

Our friendly staff are approachable, compassionate, empathetic and foster great relationships with children and their families.
At Tic Tots children learn through fun and laughter and they become their own person through their individual needs met by our professionally trained staff.

The Framework we follow

The main framework for educating your child that we operate within is the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This is the national framework that all children in the UK access and what OFSTED expect to see implemented during our inspection. The framework is aimed at children 0-5 years old and is used in the first year of primary schools (reception class).
The staff observe their key children and using the EYFS guidance, plan the next steps to support the development of each child. The majority of our activities are child led and a lot of the work/activities produced by the child are through them exploring our resources or with various paints and textures and role playing etc. independently.

Safeguarding

As a setting we work with children, parents and the community to ensure that children are kept safe and they have the very best start in life.
We ensure that all needs are met by following the Welfare Requirements that are set out in the EYFS standards.

We are committed to promoting awareness of child abuse issues among all our staff, parents and volunteers and throughout our training and learning programmes for adults. We are also committed to empowering young children, through our early childhood curriculum, promoting their right to be strong resilient and listened to. We do this by encouraging children’s communication skills and helping them to be confident enough to speak up as needed.

Safeguarding children is everyone’s responsibility and each child’s needs must and do come first.
